Wilma Smith, age 78, of Belle passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Rolla Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Facility.
Wilma was born on June 9, 1939, in Linn, a daughter to the late Samuel and the Lillie (Redden) Owens.
She was a 1957 graduate of Belle High School and a lifelong resident of the area.
On November 22, 1958, Wilma was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Smith in Vichy. Bob preceded her in death on August 12, 2000.
Wilma had been employed at the Brown Shoe Company in Owensville for over 25 years and was a member of the College Hill Baptist Church. She had been attending the Faith Baptist Church in Belle.
Wilma enjoyed doing word search books, watching T.V., embroidering, and reading. She loved spending time with her family and going out to eat with her friends visiting. She will be missed greatly by those that knew and loved her.
Wilma is survived by: one brother, Roger Owens and his wife Lois of Vichy and one sister, Joyce Mahaney of Belle as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents and spouse of over 40 years, Wilma is preceded in death by three siblings, Cleo, Don, and Carl Owens.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle with Bro. Tim Redmond officiating. Interment will follow in the College Hill cemetery near Belle.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the College Hill Cemetery Fund.
